Our newest initiative helping us provide spaces people love working in is to provide simple cost-effective energy.
Simon and Keryn, who are involved with the day to day running of Integrated Energy caught up with The Hawkes Bay Chamber Business Network to discuss why Integrated Energy was established and how it can save you money.I love meeting straight-shooters who do not hide behind gimmicks… …which the Power Industry often do I find. You know the kind – “this month if you pay before the 10th of the month we will save you $50” or “here is your annual cheque for $200 (just before Xmas) for being a good customer”.
As Keryn from Integrated Energy in Havelock North explains “those gimmicks make people slow to realise that there are better deals available. They stop them from checking what else they could get – they are simply gimmicks that keep people paying higher bills that they should. Well, we are determined to get more affordable power to our customers despite the competitions tricks and treats” she says.
Integrated Energy came about when Wallace Developments realised that with a lot of their buildings they found old fashioned thinking and wiring. If a building had ten tenants it often had ten lines. That wasted a lot of money for everyone. A single line for the whole building now saves the individual tenants thousands of dollars on their annual power bill. And, even better, Integrated Energy can now go into any existing building and probably save every tenant a whole month’s charges every year.
That is lot more dollars going back into the client’s back pocket than rival power companies can offer.
Modern technology is a wondrous thing when it comes to power saving. Integrated will also assess any office’s internal usage and with a few clever adjustments they can reduce usage by up to 20%. And, with the use of solar technology some of their clients are actually sending power back to the grid and getting paid for it!
“Is it complicated for a client?” I ask Keryn. “It is as complicated as ringing me and saying “show me the savings” she says. “From that moment we take care of everything - including an assessment to make sure it is worth their while - and then getting everything done for them. There is no interruption to their business and the savings start from day one” she tells me.
“We owe it to the community we live in to be environmentally smart” says Keryn, a native of Hawke’s Bay.
“I realise now, after returning home from years overseas, just how much we are connected to the land and the environment around us here in The Bay. We are an economy that largely depends on the land and we both live and play in the outdoors here. We must therefore do everything we can to protect what we have and that includes being mindful of how much power we use and to keep coming up with ways to use less. That is what drives and motivates us at Integrated Energy – it is a 'cause' as well as a 'business' for us!”
If you want to find out what joining the cause might do for your business (and the community you live and play in) give Keryn a call and say the magic words. You now know what they are!
